With the elections firmly over, South Africa’s economy can get back on track and we can potentially look forward to an increase in foreign direct investment flows into our country. By the time that you read this ezine, our cabinet would have been announced as well.
I hope that the 2019 growth forecast can surpass the Moody’s, S&P and Finch predictions and our rand might recover some lost ground as well…
On the local front, First Technology has always maintained our OTTT principle. For our existing clients, this of course translates to the principle of One Throat to Throttle which directly translates to full spectrum accountability to our clients in terms of the products and services that we provide.
As a quick recap, we have four dedicated sales teams in the Western Cape that are divided into:
Data Centre Solutions (High-end server, networking, storage, disaster recovery, virtualisation and cybersecurity)
Software (End to End contract management, software asset management, Licensing procurement and compliancy assurance)
Commodities (From consumables to tablets)
Managed Print Services (Finance Rental, MFD device management and Office Equipment leasing)
The engineers and technicians that staff our Managed Services Division support these teams. They provide inter alia full stack service level agreements, project management and remote management services through our NOC centre in Cape Town.
The advantage for Cape Town based clients are that we provide the agility and relationship that you would expect from a local, nimble IT company. As a reminder, our management team, network ops centre, help desk, engineering, procurement, DC architecture teams and finance are all based in Century City.
Being part of the First Technology Group however, means that we benefit from the deep skills and breadth of engineering that our 1300 staff members provide at a national level. In addition to that, with annual turnover of close to R 6 Billion, our clients are assured of the best possible pricing levels across the board, when it comes to procurement.
This coupled with our L1 BEE level, means that our clients are in a unique position to spend less time on “vendor management” and more time on growing their own businesses.
With the above in mind, we a proud to announce the formation of our Smart Building Technology (SBT) division from 1 June 2019.
The SBT division will provide the expertise, procurement and installation of a wide range of technologies we have not previously specialised in.
This includes, but is not limited to:
PBX/VOIP and Hosted PBX Solutions
Access Control & Biometric systems
Boardroom Audio Visual scoping & installation
CCTV IP , Facial Recognition and Security Systems
Content Injection and Hospitality Management Systems
HVAC & EVAC Systems
UPS, Building Power Management & Generators
Please do not hesitate to chat to your account manager or myself, should this be of interest to your company.
We look forward to an exciting disruption in the local market place with the addition of these technologies to our range of solutions.
Thank you as always for your continued support of First Technology.
Warm Regards
Johan de Villiers
