Shine A Light on Dark Data

Data can be a business’ greatest asset, but it can also hold it back from reaching its full potential. A lot of potentially valuable data pass through our network without us considering the value it might bring to our business. Much of this data end up as unstructured, unsecure dark data in the far corners of the network. Taking control of data through proper governance can not only help identify areas of growth for the business, it can also make the data, and the company, more secure.

This month’s event featured not one, but two Special Guest Speakers in the form of Gregg Abrahams, IT Manager at the Lewis Group, and Philip Greeff, Head of IT at Coronation Fund Managers. With more than three decades worth of experience between the two, they shared their valuable insight into data governance in the retail and financial sectors respectively.
