Cloud computing: Google’s new GPU service offers cut-price machine learning

Google has introduced a new option for users of its cloud computing services that could provide cut-price processing, so long as they are willing to put up with a couple of limitations. In May 2015, Google Cloud introduced ‘Preemptible’ virtual machines (VMs), cheap but short-lived compute instances suitable for batch jobs and fault-tolerant workloads. [1]
